There are over 200 Cinderella-type stories from cultures around the world. My favorites include Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters (set in Africa), Sootface (Native American) and Cinder Elly (set in the inner city). I have a whole box of them from when I did this same unit in grade 4 several years ago. I used them again the year I was a long term sub in grade 2 and the kids loved the different Cinderella stories. Good luck with your book search!
